Farogh Naseem wins Senate seat on fifth count

KARACHI: The MQM-P won its sole seat in the Senate election on Saturday with the victory of Barrister Farogh Naseem, following a recount. Barrister Mohammad Farogh Naseem of the opposition MQM Pakistan won the general seat of the Senate in the fifth count. Earlier, he was declared to have lost the election pouring cold water on the party. With Naseem’s election, the strength of the MQM in the Senate has risen to five. The party’s other candidate on the general seat was Kamran Tessori who lost in the election.
