Noted Pashto poet falls ill, admitted to KTHBy
PESHAWAR: A noted Pashto poet, Akmal Lewane, has become seriously sick and admitted to ?a hospital here.
His family brought him to the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) where Hospital Director Dr Nek Dad Afridi personally received the Pashto poet at the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital along with other doctors and examined him carefully.
Akmal Lewane has been suffering from multiple health problems and was admitted to ?nephrology department of the hospital.
Keeping in view his poor financial position, Dr Nek Dad Afridi directed the staff of the KTH to provide free services, including investigations and medicines to the Pashto poet.
Besides other health disorders, Akmal is suffering from kidney disease.
He is 60 plus and father of three children, including two daughters and a son. Akmal Lewane is the resident of Shamozai village in Katlang Tehsil in Mardan district. He was 15 years old when he wrote his first poetry book.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is expected to announce a financial package for this talented poor poet and his family.
