PITB launches e-Khidmat mobile app
Lahore: Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has said that Punjab IT Board in collaboration with the Punjab government has established the eighth mega state-of-the-art e-Khidmat Marakaz in Lahore.
PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif said this while addressing the launch of the e-Khidma mobile application to facilitate the general public for more than 17 government; district, provincial and federal; services under one roof, which would start its routine function from March 2, 2018 while it would be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. About the salient features of the e-Khidmat mobile app, Dr Umar Saif said users of smart phones and internet could easily download the app for all the different platforms such as android, windows and iOS to register themselves and to select the required service and fix time of appointment while sitting at home 24/7 to avoid the ques or wait without involving any agent’s malpractices to get the services within stipulated time.
He said more than 1,700,000 citizens had so far visited such centres functioning in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal and Bhawalpur. The Punjab government would establish 37 similar centres across the province. In future, with the participation of private sector on franchise model, their area of activity would be expanded to the tehsil level.
The e-Khidmat Markaz also known as Citizen Facilitation and Service Center (CFSC) is the flagship project of PITB to avail government services in a cost-effective manner for both the service provider and customers, offering a total of 17 unmatched government services under one roof such as issuance of learner's driving licence, domicile, character certificate, traffic fine collection, Nadra e-Sahulat, vehicle ownership transfer, token tax payment, vehicle registration, marriage, birth, divorce and death certificates, banking services, Pakistan Post Office services, e-stamp issuance and route permit issuance.
