The decision was taken by the Musalehati Jirga, chaired by senior journalist, Rahimullah Yusufzai. Other members of the Jirga, M Riaz, Ismail Khan and Abdullah Jan attended the meeting. The Jirga members discussed the row over the two seats of the governing body of the Peshawar Press Cub as a result of the December 30 annual election held last year.
Shahabuddin, Shahid Hameed, Arif Yousafzai, Inamur Rehman and Umar Younas represented one group in the meeting. Syed Bukhar Shah, Nasir Hussain, Farooq Firaq, Fida Adeel and Nisar Mahmood represented the other group.
It was decided that the election would be arranged again for the two seats among Tariq Afaq, Wisal Yousafzai, Musaratullah Jan and Ammad Waheed on February 28 at the Peshawar Press Club. The election committee headed by Mushtaq Yousafzai would hold the election while the Musalehati Jirga would oversee the process.
