Rape victim’s parents demand arrest of culprit, exemplary punishment
SUKKUR: Parents of a rape survivor on Friday demanded from the higher authorities to arrest the culprit and give him exemplary punishment.
Rajab Sammo, along with his wife Moomal Sammo, residents of Moro, held a press conference at the Hyderabad Press Club and alleged that their daughter Mehak, student of class four has been raped by a person named Niaz Korai on gunpoint for three months.
They said that the accused had recently kidnapped their daughter to get married to her forcefully, but due to her being minor, the court rejected their marriage application.
Rajab Sammo further said that even after the court’s refusal, the accused kept Mehak under illegal confinement and raped her for seven days. He added that a case has been filed against Niaz Korai and Javeed Korai at the Moro Police Station, but the jurisdiction police, despite arresting the accused, were pressurising them to withdraw from the case. Rajab Sammo said that his daughter was pregnant now and they were living under threats. They demanded protection and immediate arrest of the culprit.
