Baby’s death: Aggrieved father threatens self-immolation
TIMERGARA: Father of the baby boy, who died in the emergency unit of District Headquarters Hospital in Timergara three days ago due to the alleged negligence of doctors, on Monday threatened to commit self-immolation outside the chief minister’s office in Peshawar if action was not initiated against the responsible doctors.
Speaking at a news conference at the Timergara Press Club here, father of the baby boy, Musa Khan, a resident of Bajaur Agency, alleged that his son had expired because of the negligence of doctors on duty at the DHQ hospital and the chief minister should take action against the delinquent staff.
Relatives of Muse Khan, including Gul Saeed Bajaur Salarzo, Abdul Salam, Muhammad Nazir and others from Bajaur Agency accompanied the aggrieved father. “I challenge doctors of DHQ hospital Timergara to prove I had ever taken my child to hospitals in Swat or Peshawar for treatment as they (doctors) told media that the boy’s heart had developed four holes and that doctors in Peshawar and Swat had sent them back home”, Musa Khan said.
He alleged that his son died of mere doctor’s negligence as his son had no severe illness but was suffering from chest infection only. The man added that the doctor concerned was busy talking on his cell phone for over an hour and in the meantime continuously he supplicated the doctor to treat the patient but every time he raised his finger to keep quiet.
“I have no enmity with doctors but I can’t forget how my little son breathed his lost in my hands”, Musa Khan said with tears in his eyes. He added that he would commit self-immolation outside the CM office in Peshawar if inquiry was not initiated against the responsible.
He also demanded the chief justice of Pakistan, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and health minister to take notice of the matter and provide him justice. Musa Khan thanked the residents of Dir for supporting him during that hour of trail.
Meanwhile, members of district council Malik Muhammad Zeb Khan, Maulana Muhammad Imran Jandooli, Inayat and others staged walk out from the council’s session and chanted slogans against the district administration for its failure to arrest the killers of Zaid Khan, whose body was recovered from an orange garden in Kadh village a few days ago.
They condemned the district administration for lodging first information report (FIR) against member district council Alamzeb advocate for his alleged role in inciting public against doctors.
