SC satisfied with progress in Zainab murder case

LAHORE: A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar expressed satisfaction over the progress in the rape and murder of seven–year-old girl Zainab and disposed of the suo moto notice.
The court appreciated the Punjab police for nabbing the main suspect, observing that the police had shown performance in catching the culprit.
Separately, Imran Ali, the rapist and killer of seven-year-old Zainab, is likely to be indicted on Monday.
On Saturday, the court handed over copies of the challan to his counsel during a hearing held at the Kot Lakhpat jail. Charges are likely to be framed against the accused on Monday.
