3 Haqqani network militants killed in US drone attack in Afghanistan

MIRANSHAH: Three militants belonging to the Haqqani network were killed and several others were reportedly wounded in a US drone strike in Gorek area of Afghanistan, official sources said on Thursday.
The sources said that the drone fired two missiles and struck a house near Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan.
The sources said the three militants who lost their lives were affiliated with Haqqani network, which is a faction of the Afghan Taliban group. The sources added that several other militants sustained injuries in the attack.
Earlier, there was confusion if the drone fired missiles inside Pakistan or Afghanistan. Later, local Pakistani officials claimed the attack had taken place in Afghanistan close to the Pak-Afghan border.
