‘Anti-Islam elements using social media to misguide youth’
Islamabad: Intolerance is the cause of contention in our society, while the social media is being used by the anti-Islam elements to misguide the youths.
This was stated by Prof Muhammad Masoom Yasinzai, rector of the International Islamic University (IIU), during the concluding ceremony of the 78th Islamic Training Programme for Teachers organised by the IIU Dawah Academy on the Faisal Masjid campus of the university.
Prof Yasinzai, who was the chief guest of the ceremony, lauded the role of teachers for nurturing the youngsters on the aspects of science and technology. He said teachers could play a pivotal role in upbringing the character of youth and in the current scenario a teacher should guide the students to use social media in the right way.
The IIU rector hailed the role of the Dawah Academy for organising such teachers training. During the ceremony, Director General, Dawah Academy, Dr. Sohail Hassan, also expressed his views while Riaz Ahmed Farooqi a representative of trainees also spoke on the occasion. In the end, certificates were distributed among the course participants.
