LAHORE: The custodian of Sial Sharif Pir Khawaja Hameeduddin Sialvi withdrew his agitation call after a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday.
During the meeting held at Sial Sharif in Sargodha, they agreed on constituting a committee for dealing with all the matters, including the resignation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, and decided that peaceful Seerat-ul-Nabi (PBUH) and Khatam-e-Nabuwwat conferences would be held in which every Muslim would take part.
Talking to the media after meeting during which Sialvi accepted his request to scrap the plan of the protest movement, the chief minister said the PML-N government has a strong belief in the finality of Prophethood. Ghulam Bibi Barwana, Maulana Rehmatullah, Nizam-ud-Din Sialvi and other personalities were also present on the occasion. He said: “The finality of the Prophethood is a fundamental part of our faith and our religious belief is incomplete without it. Qadiyanis are outside the ambit of Islamand there is no other opinion about it. The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is also very clear about it,” he added.
Replying to a question, the chief minister said he had an affectionate relationship with Pir Sialvi, but some political opponents and religious segments tried to create differences between them. “Upon my request, Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi has announced to cancel the agitation movement,” he added. Answering another question, Shahbaz said the resignations submitted by some PML-N lawmakers have been withdrawn.
