Standing Committee proposes ban on Sheesha smoking

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly’s Standing Committee on Home on Tuesday recommended to the provincial government to impose ban on the unhealthy practice of Sheesha smoking. The standing committee held its meeting with PPP Syed Awais Qadir Shah in chair. Sindh Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar said that Punjab and other provinces have already banned Sheesha smoking. The unhealthy practice causes serious respiratory and lung-ailments. He said the youth should be protected from this unhealthy practice. The law minister said that police support is required against eateries offering Sheesha to their customers. The Standing committee unanimously approved the bill and referred it back to the house for adoption.
