Turkish whirling dervishes perform

LAHORE: To express their joy over Pakistan’s 70th Independence Day and show their solidarity with their brotherly Muslim country, the ‘Whirling Dervishes’ of Istanbul, enthralled people at Alhamra Arts Council on Wednesday.
The 70th Independence Day celebrations were jointly organised by the Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Lahore Arts Council. Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Serdar Deniz and Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Mian Shujaur Rehman were the chief guests. Executive Director, Lahore Arts Council, Atta Muhammad Khan was present on this occasion. The Whirling Dervishes held their audience spellbound for hours.
