LAHORE: Ayesha Ahad alleged on Saturday that she had contracted marriage with Hamza Shahbaz in 2010, and asked for the formation of another parliamentary committee to probe his case like that of Ayesha Gulalai.
Ms Ahad had previously made the same allegations against Hamza. She made the demand at a press conference in the company of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Firdous Ashiq Awan and Yasmin Rashid.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said allegations by Ayesha Ahad are the first test of recently sworn-in Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He asked if he will form a parliamentary committee to probe the allegations against Hamza Shahbaz.
He questioned if the premier would ignore Ayesha Ahad’s allegations and show a biased attitude towards the issue.
The PTI chairman further said the women rights activists should support Ms Ahad’s quest for justice which has been denied to her for years.
Imran, in another tweet, claimed that Ms Ahad had contacted her saying that she feared for her and her daughter’s life. Imran said it is on the incumbent premier and the police to provide Ms Ahad with security against the Sharifs.
