OKARA: A woman died allegedly unattended at a local hospital after giving birth to a baby here on Saturday.
Reportedly, Waqas Sipra of Chak 5/4L brought his pregnant wife Sanam Waqas to a private hospital situated on GT Road. The hospital administration demanded Rs 20,000 to attend the woman. In the meanwhile, the condition of the woman deteriorated and she delivered a baby allegedly without doctors’ help and died instantly. Her relatives started protesting against the doctors and the administration. They raised slogans against the doctors and the administration and urged the Punjab chief minister to take immediate notice of criminal negligence of the doctors. On information, Deputy District Health Officer Dr Zulfiqar reached the hospital and sealed it.
