Domestic issues drive two women to suicide
Two women took their own lives in separate incidents on Wednesday. A 25-year-old woman ended her life by shooting herself in Mehran Town over domestic issues.
Korangi Industrial Area SHO Pervaiz Gujjar said Rabia, wife of Amjad, committed suicide by shooting herself in the head at her own house. Gujjar added that preliminary investigations suggested that the woman took her own life, but the police would issue a final statement upon completion of the investigation.
Her body, which was brought to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for legal formalities, was returned to the family for last rites.
In another incident, a 20-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself with the ceiling fan of her room in Liaquatabad.
Liaquatabad SHO Adeel Ahmed said Tooba, daughter of Iqbal, ended her life over marital issues. The officer said the deceased took the extreme step following a separation from her husband. He added that the family belonged to Hyderabad and had shifted to Liaquatabad recently.
