MULTAN: Asserting his right to comment, senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has likened the verdict on the Panama Leaks to the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case decision.

Addressing a press conference at the Multan Press Club on Friday, soon after Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification by the Supreme Court, Hashmi said PTI chief Imran Khan had told him that Nawaz would be ousted through the judiciary.

He said masses would not accept the SC verdict like Bhutto’s death sentence. Hashmi said he was not contesting Mian Nawaz Sharif’s case but he was contesting the case of all politicians. He said he was repeatedly demanding the court to call him but no court had summoned him.

Commenting over the SC verdict, he said military courts should be constituted to call him for evidence. Imran Khan and Pervez Musharraf should also be summoned by the military courts where then he would expose all of them. Hashmi said he did not know when Nawaz Sharif committed corruption, but when "they" need it, they bring up all evidence and proof.

He asked why the assembly of Muhammad Khan Junejo had been dissolved. When it comes to dissolving parliament or sacking an elected prime minister, the arm of judiciary is used. He said Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification would not be quoted as precedent in the judicial history.

Hashmi said the PML-N has accepted the verdict because the party has no other option. He clarified the PML-N did not seek advice from him on the appointment of new prime minister. He said the Supreme Court verdict would deeply affect country‘s economy and international affairs. He said he has a right to comment of SC verdict.  Hashmi he had earlier demanded Nawaz Sharif face accountability process. “I have earlier said that Mian Nawaz Sharif should not be involved in business."
