Shujaat condemns girl’s rape on Panchayat’s order
LAHORE: PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain has expressed anger and sorrow over the incident of rape of a 16-year-old girl on Panchayat’s order in Multan. In a statement issued on Thursday, he said the rulers are busy in efforts to save their rule and busy in their last time in collecting money day and night. “What interest they have for oppression and excesses with an innocent student. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as usual is satisfied after taking an ordinary notice. In these circumstances, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah should by taking a suo motu notice send the case to an anti-terrorism court which should award such punishment to the Panchayat members in seven days,” he said. He hoped like the way Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has set a new example by voluntarily announcing his assets, he will be successful before Almighty Allah and also set a bright example in the world by stringently punishing the culprits involved in this incident according to the law. He said why the Punjab ministers, announcing award of punishment to the culprits according to the Constitution and law, forget that 16-year-old Azra Bibi knows no Constitution and law. She only knows that she was made victim to brutality for no crime. Had the rulers talking about the Constitution and law established the supremacy of the Constitution and law, such an incident should not have happened, he said.
