Motion against child labour submitted in Punjab PA
LAHORE: A PTI legislator, Saadia Sohail Rana, Monday submitted an adjournment motion in Punjab Assembly over the involvement of Labour Department official in promoting child labour.
In an adjournment motion submitted in the PA, the PTI MPA submitted according to a media report, children between the age of 9 and 14 were found working in factories, workshops, puncture shops and other places but the Labour Department officials were not taking action to curb child labour.
She alleged that it was all done because the Labour Department officials, under some settlement with the factory, shop owners were not taking action over the violation of child labour laws. She demanded immediate debate on the issue at the PA floor and called for measures to curb this issue.
