The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in collaboration with the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) is fully prepared to meet any possible contingency arising from the ongoing pre-monsoon and impending monsoon rains in the city.

A DHA official said on Friday that the authority had established Rain Emergency Cells at its head office in Phase I, DHA, and at the Development Directorate in Phase VIII, DHA.

He said a Rain Emergency Setup had also been established at the DHA Medical Centre in Phase VI and the centre would provide basic medical services in rain emergency incidents.

The official stated that the Rain Emergency Cells had started working round-the-clock to facilitate residents and to ensure their complaints were promptly redressed.

He said the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) would be undertaking de-watering and relief operations in rain affected areas of DHA from Phase I to Phase VII, while DHA would be responsible for the same for Phase VII Extension and Phase VIII.

A dedicated and fully-equipped Rain Emergency Centre, the official added, was accordingly working under the DHA Phase VIII Development Directorate to cater to any and all rain-related emergencies in the area.

Complaints can be lodged at the DHA Phase VIII Rain Emergency Cell at 021-35345464; for medical emergencies the DHA Medical Centre can be contacted at 021-35340281 and 021-35340863.
