MANSEHRA: A record number of tourists thronged the scenic Kaghan valley during Eidul Fitr holidays.
The tourists from across the country came to the Kaghan valley on first three days of Eidul Fitr and according to police over 100,000 vehicles took picnickers to the beautiful valley to enjoy pleasant weather and tourist attractions.
Speaking to reporters here, District Police Officer Ahsan Saifullah said that police had provided foolproof security to the tourists visiting the tourist attractions in the district. He also distributed gifs, sweets and water bottles among tourists who were on way to Kaghan valley.
“We have deployed almost 700 police personnel and traffic wardens along with high tech vehicles including heavy motorbikes in Kaghan valley and both main arteries, Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road and Karakuram Highway in the district,” said Saifullah.
He said that for the first time mobile workshops and other facilities were being provided at Naran to facilitate tourists when their vehicles developed fault. Sahibzada Javed Alfaizi, a tourist on way to Kaghan valley told reporters that police was providing services to them as they received gifts. “I am pleased to see such a change in the police attitude as they not only arranged foolproof security for the tourists but also provided them gifts,” said Alfaizi.
