SWABI: Suspected militants on Monday hurled a hand-grenade into the residence of a DSP in the heart of the high security district headquarters area.
"It was 10:45am when some militants hurled the hand-grenade into the house of DSP Izhar Shah. It exploded inside the house, but nobody was injured," said a police official. The DSP wasn't present at his house when the attack took place. However, his wife, two sons and daughter were present in the house and were unhurt.
The police official said that DSP Izhar Shah, who belongs to Mardan, usually lived alone at the house. However, his wife and children were staying with him during Ramazan. Soon after, a search operation was launched.
