Bohra community launches plantation drive
Rawalpindi
His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the 53rd spiritual leader of Dawoodi Bohra community, has initiated a worldwide plantation drive in the month of Ramazan, says a press release.
His Holiness has wished members of the Dawoodi Bohra Community to plant 200,000 saplings across the world during Ramazan only.
"We will be planting at least 328 saplings in Rawalpindi and Islamabad Inshallah," said Murtaza BS Zainee, president of Rawalpindi Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat.
All the saplings will have an identification mark, in form of a number which is being pasted on the sapling during plantation.
"This marking is being done in order to keep the record of all the saplings planted during the drive," Murtaza BS said. "In addition to this all the saplings will be looked after by community members."
In Rawalpindi mostly the saplings are being planted in the houses of community members.
Burhani Ambulance Corps (BAC), an integral part of Rawalpindi Dawoodi Bohra community, is helping out community members in getting various saplings.
"I am quite hopeful that our team will achieve the target of 328 saplings by the end of next week," said M Ali Abbas, captain of BAC.
