BANNU: The police on Saturday arrested an alleged militant in the Mandan area in the district and recovered explosives and other material from him, police sources said.
They said that the police were informed that a militant had returned to the Mandan area and was present at a nursery near Kangar bridge.
The police conducted a raid and arrested the alleged militant identified as Mansoorullah Mandan, the sources added.
They said the police also recovered a homemade explosive device, a hand-grenade, a detonator, safety fuses, prima cord and bombs making instructions from the arrested militant.
They called in the officials of the bomb disposal unit, who defused the explosive devices.
