Younis rejects Afghanistan coaching reports
LAHORE: Veteran batsman Younis Khan, who is playing his last Test for Pakistan, has rejected reports that he is going to coach Afghanistan team after retirement.
He rubbished reports that he has accepted the Afghanistan coaching job. Atif Mashal, the chairman of Afghanistan’s board, told BBC Urdu on Thursday that the contract was being finalised and that they were considering the demands made by the 39 year old batsman.
“We haven’t reached an agreement but we want to hire the services of the best players for our team,” said Mashal, adding that Younis has said “yes” to the proposal.
If the contract materialises, Younus will become the fourth Pakistani to coach Afghanistan. Inzamam-ul-Haq, Rashid Latif and Kabir Khan have already done so.“We are looking at our possibilities and his demands,” said Mashal.
