Five FC men martyred in terrorist attacks
Three others injured; terrorists open fire on convoy of security forces in Turbat; PM says motherland will be cleared of terrorists; COAS says every Pakistani is soldier of Raddul Fasaad
KECH/PANJGUR: Five Frontier Corps (FC) men were martyred and three others injured in separate armed attacks by terrorists in Turbat and Mohmand Agency on Sunday.
Security sources said armed terrorists attacked a convoy of security forces in Tehsil Turbat of district Kech of Balochistan. Four FC men were martyred in the attack while three others were injured.
The attackers fled after retaliatory firing by the security personnel. The bodies and the injured were shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. The security forces cordoned off the area after the attack and launched a search operation.
In the Mohmand Agency, a vehicle carrying the FC personnel hit an IED. One of the FC men on the vehicle was martyred. Two people were killed when unidentified armed men sprayed bullets at them in the Zamran area of Panjgur district.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle in Turbat that resulted in the martyrdom of four FC personnel. The prime minister has expressed deep grief over the loss of precious lives and has prayed for the departed souls. He also expressed condolences with the bereaved families.
The prime minister has reiterated the government's resolve to fight against the terrorists till the motherland was cleared of all such elements. Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Sunday every Pakistani is a soldier of Operation Raddul Fasaad.
According to a tweet by Director General Inter Services Public Relations Major General Asif Ghafoor, the COAS urged Pakistanis to clean the country of fasaad . In the tweet’s video message, it is said that a man comes to rent a van where the owner asks him for his CNIC and licence along with the money.
The man asks the business owner to simply rent him a car over cash. Once in the car, the man is seen accompanied by a suicide bomber. The message of the video urges citizens to remain vigilant over such behaviour as it might compromise the safety of other citizens.
Pakistan on February 22 had launched a nationwide military operation Raddul Fasaad, which included broad spectrum security and counter-terrorism operations in Punjab and continuation of ongoing operations across the country.
