Anti-tobacco campaign
LAHORE
A 10-day campaign regarding enforcement of Tobacco Control Campaign is being launched on Tuesday (today) through patrolling posts across the province on the instruction of Additional IGP Punjab Highway Patrol Amjad Javed Saleemi. The campaign is being launched in all PHP regions, especially through PHP Mobile Education Units to educate general public regarding The prohibition of Tobacco as per section-5 of “The prohibition of Non-smoke’s Health Ordinance 2002” all places of public work or use and public services vehicles are completely tobacco smoke-free.
Section-8 prohibits sale of cigarettes and other smoking substance to person under age of 28 years. Section-9 bans sale, storage and distribution of tobacco products within and 50 meter of the educational institutions. According to Section-10, it is obligatory to display no smoking signs at all places of public use of work. Police officers (ASI and above) are authorised persons to take action against the violators.
