Weapons recovered from house in NWA

MIRANSHAH: The security forces recovered weapons from a house in Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan during search operation, official sources said on Monday. The sources said that the security forces launched search operation in Masdak area in Dattakhel along the Afghan border. The forces recovered rockets and shells from an abandoned house in Masdak.

 

BSF seizes Pak boat

FIROZPUR: The Border Security Force (BSF) Sunday seized a Pakistani boat loaded with 400 kg fish near Sutlej River in Firozpur border area, foreign media reports. Investigation into the matter is underway. Last month, the Pakistan Navy apprehended 88 Indian fishermen and 15 boats off the Gujarat coast in the Arabian Sea. They were arrested from Jakhau village of Gujarat.

 

Three suspects arrested, arms seized in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In the wake of growing terror threats in the federal capital, Rangers, police and other law enforcement agencies on Monday conducted a search operation in the rural areas and arrested three suspects. An official said the joint operation was conducted in the precincts of Bhara Kahu Police Station where the law enforcers searched around 300 homes and some 600 people. They also recovered 13 rifles, four repeaters and four sub machine guns along with ammunition from their possession.

 

30,000 workers from Chitral to attend JUI-F congregation

CHITRAL: Around 30,000 workers of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) from the district would attend the party congregation in Azakhel. Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, JUI-F district chief Maulana Abdur Rehman said that party workers from Chitral had left for participation in the centenary celebrations. He said the workers from Chitral would reach Nowshera by April 6 and attend the three-day event.

 

Shahbaz reviews roads project

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting, here Monday to review Lodhran-Khanewal Dual Road and Shahdara to Kala Shah Kaku GT Road Expressway projects.Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that Lodhran to Khanewal Dual Road construction project is a splendid gift for the people of Southern Punjab. He said this mega project at a cost of billions of rupees has to be completed in stipulated period. He said under the project, an interchange will be constructed at Niazi Chowk Khanewal while a flyover will be constructed at Maitla Chowk. This project will be a masterpiece of transparency, quality work and speedy completion, he added.

 

LAHORE: The FIA AHTC Lahore has arrested most wanted trafficker present at Serial No 06 of Red Book 2014-15 Muhammad Siraj Khan, s/o Raj Wali Khan, a resident of Rawalpindi. The accused was owner of HRA Consultant, Rawalpindi and extorted millions from innocent people on the pretext of providing them employment in Qatar. 

RAWALPINDI: Fiza, an 18-month-old baby girl, was stabbed to death by her mother at Tahli Mohri on Saturday. "My wife stabbed my daughter thrice on different part of her body and killed her on the spot," Adnan, father of the victim told the police but Mahwash accused  her husband of killing their baby daughter.

ISLAMABAD: The custodian of a shrine, along with three accomplices, was sent on three-day physical remand for torturing and killing 20 people.  The accused would be presented before the court again on April 6.  The victims were apparently given intoxicants before their killing. Some officials said Waheed had mental health problems.
