Siraj calls for Islamic education, financial systems
BATKHELA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Monday called for imposition of Islamic Shariah, saying co-education and interest-based financial system should be replaced with Islamic education and financial systems.
He was speaking at a Khatm-e-Bukhari Sharif ceremony at the Darul Uloom Taleemul Quran seminary in Sakhakot in Malakand Agency. JI provincial president Mushtaq Ahmad and others also spoke.
Senator Sirajul Haq said that the rich were living a luxurious life while the poor lacked basic necessities of life. He pointed out that the people of southern districts lacked health and education facilities. They are living a backward life, he added. The JI chief deplored that the poor and destitute had been kept deprived of rights.
The JI chief added that the rulers took dictation from US in running the country affairs. Later, he and Mushtaq Ahmad distributed awards and certificates among the students who completed the studies.
