Three NGO workers injured in Orakzai Agency
PESHAWAR: A minor girl was killed and another child injured in a grenade blast at Gandi Khan Khel in Lakki Marwat district on Thursday morning.
According to police, the children were playing with a live grenade considering it a toy when it went off with a big bang. As a result, a girl Neela, daughter of Shahid, was killed and another child Sifatullah Khan, son of Hayat Khan, was injured. The injured was shifted to a hospital.
According to another report, the Counter-Terrorism department, Malakand region, on Thursday apprehended a criminal who had allegedly hidden grenades underground in Lower Dir district.
According to CTD officials, on a tip-off, he was arrested from Cham Gharhi village in Lower Dir. The name of the terrorist was kept secret and he was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Meanwhile, firing by unknown gunmen left three workers of an NGO injured on Thursday in Central Orakzai Agency, authorities said. The gunmen opened firing at a vehicle of the NGO in Ismaelzai area of Central Orakzai Agency. The injured workers were immediately shifted to a hospital. Security forces rushed to the site of the incident and started a combing operation to nab the culprits.
