‘CPEC will make Pakistan economic hub of region’
The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will make Pakistan the economic hub of this region and, eventually, the responsibilities and jurisdictions of the Pakistan Navy will also expand with the activation of this route, said Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah on Thursday.
He was speaking at the keel laying ceremony of the Fast Attack Missile Craft for Pakistan Navy that was held at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited.
Addressing the ceremony as the chief guest, he said the Pakistan Navy was on the way to self dependence with another missile craft being manufactured at the Karachi Shipyard and. He said the Pakistan Navy had extended every kind of support in this regard.
The naval chief hoped that the ship being manufactured would prove its worth and serve the Pakistan Navy for a long time.
He lauded the work of engineers at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works and congratulated all the stakeholders for achieving this great milestone. He said the work was also underway to establish new shipyards in the country.
Admiral Zakaullah said Pakistan held utmost importance in the region due to its geographical position. “The Pakistan Navy is always ready to defend its maritime borders and take on any challenge or danger.”
The Fast Attack Craft (Missile) is indigenously designed in Pakistan by the Maritime Technologies Complex.
