Karachi mayor inaugurates CPNE Editors Club

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar inaugurated the Editor's Club of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) on Tuesday. Senior Sindh Minister Nisar Khoro, President CPNE Zia Shahid, General Secretary Aijazul Haq, former president Jamil Ather, former secretary Jabbar Khattak, members of CPNE and senior journalists were also present on this occasion, said a statement on Wednesday.

Later addressing the ceremony Mayor Karachi said telling truth has become a crime here, still we will be with honesty and truth. Strong Journalists community would make us strengthen. The provincial senior minister Nisar Khoro said everything published in newspapers became historical record and the relationship between the newspapers, magazines and books and reader remained intact forever.

President of CPNE Zia Shahid said this has been the first experiment of newspapers editors club in Karachi. We had the press club but not editors club where the editors could get relaxed after strained works. General Secretary of CPNE Aijazul Haq and former president Jamil Ather also spoke on this occasion.
