Honour killing claims six lives

SUKKUR: Honour killing claimed six lives, including a prayer leader. An accused shot dead his sister and her daughter along with her alleged paramour in Khairpur. Reports said that in Tando Mir Ali in Khairpur accused Akbar Ranjoko had shot dead his sister Nazia Kousar (25), her eight-month-old daughter Tanzila and her alleged paramour Irshad over the  charge of honour killing.

Peer Wasan Police arrested the accused and an investigation was underway. Police said that the accused confessed to his crime and said that when he entered the house, he had allegedly found his sister in an objectionable state with the servant. Following it, he could not control his anger.

Reports said that in village Rasool Bux Mari in Nausharoferoz, accused Muhammed Hassan Mari allegedly strangled to death his cousin Sumaya and her alleged paramour Muhammed Salim Mari, who was a prayer leader too. Later, he surrendered himself at the police station where he confessed to his crime and stated that he could not control his anger when he allegedly saw his sister with the prayer leader in an objectionable condition. Police said that an investigation was underway and said that the accused was not involved in the killing alone. The accused was supported by two others. Respectively, in Matyari accused Punhal Chandio shot dead his widow sister in an incident of honour killing. The accused was also arrested by the police.
