Pakistan Day celebrated at all PAF Bases

LAHORE

Pakistan Day was celebrated at all PAF Bases and installations with traditional zeal and fervour. The daylong celebrations started with special prayers after Fajr for the solidarity, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and the Muslim World.

A guard mounting and wreath laying ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Lahore. Air Commodore Salman Mahboob, Base Commander, Pakistan Air Force Base, Lahore was the chief guest on the occasion.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Air Force took over the guard duties from Satluj Rangers. The chief guest laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha at the grave of Allama Iqbal on behalf of Chief of the Air Staff, Airmen and Civilians of Pakistan Air Force. 

Minorities: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said the protection of rights of minorities of the Sub-continent, their culture and identity was an important element of Pakistan Resolution which convinced and motivated the minority communities to strongly support the creation of Pakistan for which they struggled hard shoulder to shoulder with Muslims in the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and played a pivotal role afterwards in the progress and development of the country. 

He said this while felicitating the whole nation along with minority communities on the 77th Pakistan Day on Thursday.

UHS: The students and staff of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) observed the Pakistan Day with traditional zeal and fervour and a renewed pledge to make the country a strong, progressive and prosperous state. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the national flag was hoisted on the campus by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan, after which the national anthem was played. Special prayers were offered for the solidarity of the country. Highlighting the need for coexistence, tolerance and humanity, the VC referred to the speech of the Quaid-i-Azam after independence in which he stressed equal rights to every citizen of the country. At the end, a walk was also held.

function: ‘Pakistan Day’ is not only a day of pride and gratefulness to Allah Almighty but also a day to rekindle the spirit of one nation and contribute towards the progress of this great country and in the lives of our fellow Pakistanis according to the teachings and guidelines of the Father of the Nation. This was stated by Eama John, chairperson of an NGO, while addressing a seminar held here on Thursday.

Democratic party: Workers of Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party on Thursday celebrated Pakistan Day with great zeal and zest. A large number of party workers participated in a cake-cutting ceremony in Lahore office. PJDP Lahore President Jameel Ahmad Sindhu, General Secretary Muhammad Mudassar Chaudhry , Asif Imran, Iftikhar Shabbor, Ambreen Rana, Irram Yousaf and others participated in the event.   

Pakistan Day ceremonies at schools: Educational institutions on Thursday organised ceremonies to celebrate Pakistan Day with traditional zeal.

A ceremony was held at Government  Boys High School, Khazana Gate. Punjab Schools Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Sameer Ahmed, Education EDO  Tariq Rafiq, teachers and students were also present. Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) also organised a ceremony. 

Many other government schools organised ceremonies though the attendance of students was reported quite thin. The district government’s education office had directed the heads of schools to hold ceremonies in connection with the day.
