Three TTP-Swat militants held in Manghopir
The Sindh Rangers arrested six suspects in raids across the city on Monday, three of whom were said to be terrorists affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Swat Group.
A spokesman for the paramilitary force said three suspects identified as Badhshah Islam, Mohammad Afzal and Syed Mehar Gul alias Gul Khan were arrested in a raid in the city’s Manghopir area.
The men, added the spokesman, were found to be militants affiliated with the banned TTP-Swat Group and had been involved in target killings, terrorist attacks, kidnappings and other crimes.
In another raid in the Super Market area, the paramilitary force arrested a suspect named Sultan who was said to be a gangster based in Lyari.
The suspect, as per the Rangers, was wanted by LEAs for involvement in various crimes including terror activities, kidnappings and drug peddling.
The paramilitary force’s teams also arrested a street criminal – identified as Adnan – from the city’s Awami Colony area. He was said to have been involved in multiple muggings and armed robberies.
In the same area, the Rangers busted a drug den and arrested a dealer identified as Mohammed Rizwan. A cache of narcotics was also seized.
