Political stability must for economic growth, says Sindh governor
Urges Pak business community, foreign traders to invest
in Pakistan; assures provision of foolproof security
DUBAI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has said that no country can bring prosperity and growth in economy without political stability in their system and urged Pakistan’s business community as well as foreign traders to invest in Pakistan for better profit margin.
He was addressing at the Pakistan Investment Road Show held in Dubai aimed at apprising the investers of the potential as well as capacity of Karachi for profitable investment and business opportunities in various fields. To attract investers Pakistan Business Council arranged the road show in Dubai where around 300 people belonging to the business community attended the event.
With the reference of economic growth in Pervez Musharraf and Ayub Khan's era, Muhammad Zubair stated that political stability always brought positive economic growth. Sindh governor pointed out that Pakistan had been offering very conducive investment environment for foreign and local investors after the restoration of law and order situation especially in Karachi and introduction of CPEC. Therefore, the foreign and local investers should take advantage from the opportunities offered by Karachi and CPEC, he added.
After highlighting the current economic policies of the government, he said that new era of prosperity and development will commence after the completion of CPEC in the country. Muhammad Zubair assured that the traders and businessmen coming up with investment in Sindh would be provided foolproof security. He was of the view that such road shows would prove helpful for carving out a place for Karachi on the international economic scene. He believed that the port in Karachi would be more beneficial to the country’s economy after completion of the CPEC.
While talking to The News after addressing the gathering, President of Pakistan Business Council (PBC) Dubai Ahmed Shaikhani informed that the prime purpose of “Pakistan Roadshow 2017” was to encourage Pakistani business community and different traders to avail the investment opportunities in Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan Business Council regularly received many queries of investing money in Pakistan after emerging stock market and CPEC. Shaikhani hoped that the heavy investment would come to Pakistan from abroad very soon.
