TTP, MQM-L men among eight held by Rangers

The Sindh Rangers on Wednesday arrested eight suspects, including alleged criminals of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement—London.

A spokesman for the paramilitary force said raids were conducted in Malir, Saeedabad and Super Market areas.

He said the man belonging to the MQM—London, Mohammed Sami, was arrested in the Super Market area.

The accused is involved in extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes, he added.

In a separate raid conducted in Malir’s Saudabad area, Hakeem Khan Afghani, allegedly affiliated with the TTP, was arrested.

He is involved in target killings, terror facilitation and extortion, the spokesperson claimed.

During the raids in Saeeabad’s Mawach Goth and Ittehad Town areas, four suspects were arrested. They are identified as Mohammed Shahid, Abdul Rehman, Rasool Bux and Mohammed Rafiq.

They were involved in street crime and robberies and also wanted to the police in a number of cases, according the Rangers. Two Afghan nationals, who were residing in Pakistan illegally, were also rounded up during different raids. Six accused were handed over to police and the two Afghan national were handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Sindh.
