IHC suspends Pemra’s ban on anchor

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) ban notification on a private TV anchor Amir Liaquat Hussain’s programme.
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case for hearing on Tuesday.
During the hearing no representative on behalf of Pemra appeared before the court.
On this the court, while expressing annoyance, summoned the chairman Pemra in person till March 7. Justice Shaukat remarked that chairman Pemra should inform the court that what kind of action he took against those who, while drunk, conducted programmes against Pakistan ideology, Pak Army and Islam.
