Personnel of the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) of Sindh’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed on Saturday to have arrested a human trafficker.
A spokesman for the FIA Sindh said AHTC personnel conducted a successful raid under the supervision of Additional Director Lubna Tiwana in the Saddar locality and arrested a man named Atique Qaisar Bhatti.
The accused had demanded Rs130,000 and received Rs50,000 in advance from one Babar Daniel in the name of the FIA, as Bhatti had introduced himself as an official of the agency.
The accused was taken to the FIA Police Station and thoroughly interrogated following Daniel’s recorded statements.
FIR No 67/2017 under sections 162, 406, 419 and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code has been registered against Atique Qaisar Bhatti, son of Bashir Masih Bhatti. Further investigations are under way.
