SC resumes Panama Papers case today
NAB submits record of Hudabiya Mills
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) will resume hearing of Panama Papers case today (Tuesday).
Five-member larger bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa will hold hearing into the case. It should be remembered that Supreme Court during last hearing ordered NAB and FBR chairmen to appear in person in the court and presented record of the cases of money laundering against Sharif family and Hudabiya Mills today.
Meanwhile, NAB submitted records of Hudabiya Papers Mills case and reference of Raiwand palaces in connection with Sharif family in Supreme Court on Monday. The record was submitted by NAB Prosecutor General Waqas Qadeer Dar.
It should also be remembered that former NAB chairman Lt General Khalid Maqbool, during Musharraf tenure, had filed a reference with accountability court and accused Sharif family of amassing over billions of rupees through illegal means while the Lahore High Court had acquitted them. But the NAB did not challenge the decision of LHC. The Supreme Court ordered appearance of NAB chairman in this regard.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court had summoned FBR chairman to give details in connection with the names of Pakistanis mentioned in Panama Papers.
