Fata students protest arrest of leader
PESHAWAR: Activists of the Fata Students Organisation (FSO) staged a protest against arrest of their president Shaukat Aziz here on Sunday and demanded his early release.
They set up a protest camp near the Peshawar Press Club to press the government for release of the arrested student leader.
Holding banners inscribed with slogans against the FCR or Frontier Crimes Regulation and in favour of their leader, the protesters demanded immediate release of the arrested student.
Speaking on occasion, FSO activists, Idrees Khan and Samrena Khan Wazir, said Shaukat Aziz was arrested
for raising voice against the FCR.
They said the deputy commissioner of Peshawar called Shaukat Aziz to his office, wherefrom he was taken into custody.
The protesters warned the district administration to free the arrested leader unconditionally.
They said their voice could not be suppressed through arrests.
They said Shaukat Aziz was imprisoned in the Peshawar Central Prison and nobody was allowed to meet him.
They demanded the government to release the arrested students or else a protest campaign would be launched throughout the country.
The protesters vowed to continue their protest till release of the student.
