PTI to back PPP move: Qureshi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said he will support movement launched by PPP against the government on December 27.

Besides, the PTI vice-chairman also said the PTI had no objection to four demands made by the PPP but latter should avoid, including Yusuf Raza Gilani, the most "corrupt" PM of the country history in the negotiation committee.

Flanked by former governor of Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar, talking to media on Saturday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the PTI would accept the Supreme Court ruling on Panama case but it did not want any commission over the issue. He also said that any new bench of SC should also be comprised of the four serving judges.

Qureshi said the PTI's counsel Naeem Bokhari had proved it in the court that the PML-N was merely deceiving it, adding the worth of the letter by Qatari prince had been exposed, and these princes were now damaging crops in Bhakkar in the name of bird hunting.

The PTI leader said that nation had the right to have its viewpoint about court's judgements, adding it had still not accepted the execution of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He went on to say that the government had failed miserably in running the country which was obvious from the fact that the ministers were not interested in attending the assembly proceedings, but they were seen regularly in court in Panama case.

The PTI leader said the government was completely paralysed, the ministers did not say anything about the recent plane tragedy but they were raising hue and cry over Panama scam. Slamming the government over its failure on diplomatic front, Shah Mehmood said what happened to country's adviser on interior recently in India was before entire nation.

He said Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's tirade against Pakistan was done on Modi's command but rather than improving its situation on diplomatic front, the government was focusing on Panama.

To a question, he said he would support the PPP movement being launched on December 27 against the government but had reservations over name of Yusuf Raza Gilani, the most corrupt premier of country so far in the dialogue committee.

The PPP should review its decision, said Qureshi who also hails from Multan, the city of Yusuf Raza Gilani. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that the military courts, which came into existence through 21st Amendment would complete their two-year constitutional period by January.

He said the government should clarify its stance over the extension issue of these courts besides asking it should also tell what had been the PML-N performance over the judicial reforms which it vowed to bring.
