Army win National Road Men’s Cycling C’ship
KARACHI: Army won the second edition of National Road Men’s Cycling Championship at Islamabad on Monday.
Arsalan Anjum of Army won in the senior category, while Habibullah of Islamabad was declared the winner in the junior section.
Army emerged as the overall winners with 89 points. They were followed by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) who secured 70 points, while WAPDA with 34 points gained the third position.
In the 70km team trial senior category, Army grabbed gold, SSGC secured silver, while WAPDA gained bronze medal.
In the individual time trial senior section, Arsalan Anjum of Army got gold, Mohsin Khan of SSGC claimed silver, while Najeebullah of WAPDA picked bronze.
In the road point race 70km senior section, Zeeshan Ali of SSGC claimed gold, Mohammad Sajid of Army picked silver and Ghulam Hussain of Sindh grabbed bronze.
In the 20km junior section individual time trial, Tanzeel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa claimed gold, Habibullah of Islamabad took silver, while Bilal Ahmed of Balochistan secured bronze.
In the point race 30km junior section, Habibullah of Islamabad got gold, Bilal Ahmed of Balochistan secured silver and Tanzeel of KP captured bronze.
In junior category, KP and Islamabad scored 25 points each, Balochistan secured 16 and Punjab got four points. Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Director General Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera graced the closing ceremony.
