Man found killed in Harbanspura

LAHORE

A 37-year-old man was found murdered at Harbanspura.

The deceased was identified as Karamat Ali Shah of Mehr Fiaz Colony, Harbanspura. The victim, a rickshaw driver, left his house a day back and did not turn up. Later, his body was found with a gunshot wound in his head. Police have shifted the body to morgue and registered a murder case. 

fire: Goods and machinery worth hundreds of thousands of rupees were reduced to ashes when a huge fire erupted in a plastic godown at Taj Compnay Chowk, Suggian Bridge.

The exact cause of the fire was yet to be known but it seemed that short-circuit was its cause. Eight fire vehicles put out the blaze after hectic efforts. No casualty was reported.

road crashes: The people aged between 18 and 30 years of age are the main contributor to road crashes, and the reason is disobedience to traffic rules and road safety principles.

This was stated by National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) Central Zone DIG while addressing a road safety seminar at Babu Sabu, Lahore. Besides the sector commander, civil society members, students and people associated with transport business were also present.

The DIG said that the United Nations had declared the Motorway Police a model institution while Transparency International and NAB declared it corruption-free department in Pakistan.

accidents: Total 714 road accidents were reported to the Provincial Monitoring Cell of Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, from all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Five lives were lost and 494 people injured in the accidents. The injured were shifted to hospitals. However, some 215 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were provided first aid by the emergency medical teams.
