Shops sealed for selling cigarettes to minors
LAHORE
The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) has launched a crackdown on sale of cigarettes to minors across the city.
The CDGL officials said the DCO himself headed the campaign and sealed many shops in Gulberg and other localities on Tuesday.
They said the DCO passed directions to his staff that he will not tolerate any negligence in this operation. During the campaign, the DCO and his team arrested owners of the shops for selling cigarettes to minors. He directed all TMOs to keep a vigilant eye on such shops.
The DCO took action over the death of two-year-old Abdul Rehman. His body was recovered from a manhole in Yaseen Park and ordered an inquiry.
He appointed ADC (G) and DGBT Administrator as inquiry officials and asked them to furnish a report of the incident within 24 hours. The DCO visited Upper Mall Gulberg locality to check the performance of polio teams on the second day of three days polio drive. He administrated polio drops to children.
