Reception held for China-Pak rally participants
A reception to welcome members of the China-Pakistan Friendship Car Rally was held by the Sindh Department of Culture and Tourism at the National Museum on Sunday.
The 52 members of the rally began their journey into Pakistan on October 14 from the Khunjerab pass, the southwest border of China’s Xinjiang region, in a bid to highlight the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Besides a luncheon, the guests were treated to songs sung by renowned Sindhi folk singer Taj Mastani, and also danced to the tune of famous Sindhi folksongs.
Speaking of the Pakistan’s friendly ties with China, Sindh Minister for Culture Syed Sardar Ali Shah welcomed members of the rally and gifted them the traditional Ajrak and Sindhi caps.
The rally members who had arrived in Karachi on Saturday had also visited the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum to pay their tributes.
