CDA completes streetlights work in Sector D-12
Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) had completed installation work of streetlights in Sector D-12 in record time of just one month.
All major roads of Sector D-12 have been illuminated after completing installation of the streetlights, while soon after completing residual sewerage and drainage system work, streetlights in remaining areas and streets would be also made operational.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority(CDA) Sheikh Anser Aziz stated this while inspecting the progress of development work in sector D-12. On this occasion Director Sectors Development CDA Deputy Mayor of Islamabad Syed Zeeshan Naqvi local elected representatives and senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA were also present, said a press release issued here.
Sheikh Anser Aziz said that delayed and improper decision-making have not only impeded the development of the sectors but also resulted in cost escalation of development activities on the hand and multiplied issues of the affectees of Islamabad on the other.
He said that sector D-12 was opened around three decades ago, however, due to missing priorities and delayed decision-making development work in the sectors could not be completed even today.
He said that after assigning the responsibility of development of the city to the elected representatives by Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif not only timely and appropriate decisions would be made but will help prompt solution of longstanding issues of the city.
Mayor said that allottees of Sector E-12 are waiting to construct their home on allotted plots since last 25 years but due to delayed decision-making, non-possession on the acquired land of the sector and missing priorities, development work could not be completed.
In this context he added a comprehensive strategy is being evolved to reinstate and re-initiate development work in all such sectors on priority basis so that worries of the allottees could be addressed.
Sheikh Anser said that development of the city is now in the hands of elected representatives, therefore, elected representative of the area have been tasked to play his due role in addressing the genuine problems of the respective areas, as no one is more cognizant of issues of their constituencies.
He directed the Director Sectors Development and other officers to complete the residual drainage and sewerage system work and street light installation at the earliest.
