Pakistan condemns terror attack in Turkey
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Sunday condemned a terrorist attack on a gendarmerie checkpoint in Semdinli district of Turkey’s Hakkari province resulting in the loss of a number of lives.
Pakistan condemns this mindless act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and to the people and government of Turkey. We also pray for the speediest and fullest recovery of the wounded,” a press release of the Foreign Office said.
Pakistan also reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Reports indicated that a number of precious lives including security personnel and civilians were lost besides a large number of people were injured in the terrorist attack. The Foreign Office said the people of Pakistan stood in abiding solidarity with Turkey as the Turkish brethren wage their resolute fight against terrorism.
There is no doubt that those seeking to disturb the peace stability and internal harmony of Turkey would never succeed. We remain firm in our belief that the brotherly people of Turkey would decisively defeat the scourge of terrorism with their unshakable resolve, it added.
