FAISALABAD: Former mayor and MNA Chaudhry Sher Ali on Thursday said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was backing his Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and they would quit the party along with their supporters if the party leadership hated to see their faces.
Addressing a news conference here, Sher Ali said he had called back his son, state minister Abid Sher Ali, who would expose the activities of Sana for splitting the PML-N into various factions. “If required, Abid will also quit the ministry,” he said.
He said Sana was solely responsible for the disintegration of the party in Faisalabad. He claimed that sincere party workers were ignored at the cost of Rana Sana’s supporters while awarding party tickets for the local government elections.
He again warned that if the practice was not abandoned, he and his supporters might quit the PML-N.Sher Ali again alleged that Sana was involved in 20 murders and announced to hold a news conference after a week to give the related evidence.
Commenting on the recent by-elections, he said it was a pityCommenting on the recent by-elections, he said it was pity that the son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s brother-in-law was defeated in Lahore.
He said Sana was damaging the party’s image, adding that if the law minister was not removed from the provincial cabinet then the entire Faisalabad would revolt against the chief minister.
He also warned of street agitation if the administration did not take notice of Ghulam Muhammadabad firing case and provide justice to the affected people.
Sher Ali said the brothers of MPA Malik Muhammad Nawaz were involved in two murder cases and MNA Mian Abdul Manan in another, adding that they were trying to trigger bloodshed in the city.
“Sana will have to rent a house in Lahore if we withdrew support to him,” he remarked. In his reaction, Sana said he had virtually been bewildered by unfounded allegations against him and other party leaders.
He said Chaudhry Sher Ali seemed to have lost his mental balance.MPA Sheikh Ejaz Ahmed and Malik Nawaz also held a news conference and condemned the use of indecent language by Sher Ali.
They categorically denied the allegations and said Sher Ali had launched a political drama against his opponents, as he was desirous of making his son mayor of the city. They said Sher Ali should mend his attitude and be ready to face the consequences if he continued maligning his opponents by leveling baseless allegations.
