Police directed to register FIR in woman kidnapping bid
PESHAWAR: A local court has ordered station house officer to register first information report (FIR) against seven persons for attempting to kidnap a woman.
Additional District and Sessions Judge, Farah Attaullah, issued the direction for registration of FIR to station house officer Khazana Police Station in the application of Bas Bibi filed under section 22-A of CrPC.
During hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer Palwasha Hadi Gul submitted before the court that the petitioner woman from Khazana area had first married to her cousin Amanullah in 2012. She submitted that even during first days of the marriage the husband started torturing her. Later, the lawyer said the husband expelled her from his house and she was compelled to take refuge in her sister’s house.
The lawyer argued that the accused persons including Tariq, Sher Gul, Javed, Amjad, Anwar, Bakht Ali and Sadiq after threatening calls and throwing acid on her face attacked on her sister’s house and tortured her severely. She informed the court that they wanted to kidnap and sell the petitioner woman after she filed a suit for dissolution of marriage in the family court.
The court after hearing both the sides on the application ordered the SHO Khazana Police Station to register FIR against the accused persons.
