Husband arrested as woman found dead

A woman was alleged to have committed suicide, while a man was attempted one after their domestic disputes took a turn for the worse, in separate incidents reported on Wednesday.
Thirty-five-year-old Shahana, wife of Muhammad Iftikhar, hung herself from a ceiling fan inside her residence situated in New Karachi, Sector 12-B.
The mother of four was according to officials of the Sir Syed Town police station locked herself in the room following a fight with her husband.
Her body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by the police officials for medico-legal formalities. The possibility of the woman being murdered was also being looked into; her husband was also taken into custody.
Wahid, 32, following a fight with his wife set himself on fire in his Afridi Colony residence situated in Baldia Town, within the ambit of the Ittehad Town police station. His family took him to the CHK where the MLO informed them that he had received at least 95 percent burns.
